Develop your ability to perform on camera whilst learning the fundamental steps of the Meisner Technique.

If you’ve been on set, in an audition, or filming a self-tape alone in your room, you may notice your attention getting pulled toward the camera rather than staying in the scene. In the age of self-tapes, actors can spend hours modifying their performance until it reaches the 'idea' they had in their head, but something still doesn’t feel right: now the scene feels tense, tired, and full of effort. This 2-Week Intensive will help you perform with your intuition and not your ‘idea’, aiming to dispel the fear of ‘overacting’, and give you the confidence to be present and convincing on camera.

Week One we work on our 1st scene, practice being present, shifting through beats, and auditioning. Week Two we study relationships/objectives, work with 'Direction', and film our 2nd scene.

Your Teacher: Craig McKenzie
Craig McKenzie is a director & coach. His 2018 debut film ‘Ding-Ding, Next’ was funded by BBC, more recently he released ‘reload’ (2025) starring Ashley Walters, ‘The Stained Stainlessman’ (2025) starring Mia Jenkins, and ‘A Love Story’ (2026) starring Ernest Kingsley Jnr. Craig teaches Screen Acting/Meisner at East 15, NFTS, Central, & more.

6 Week Intensive - Repetition - "Behaviour and Opinion"

3 hrs£250

Repetition is the key to Sanford Meisner’s work. It’s what separates it from all other techniques. It requires nothing but your attention.

This class is built on Meisner’s repetition exercise.

Repetition is about learning. Learning to trust your instincts. Learning to be direct. Learning to be emotionally available.

The class will force you to express your honest feeling or opinion without hesitation. It will completely personalise your work because you will respond in a way entirely unique to you— instinctually and uncompromised.

Repetition is the proof that language is algebraic, that words don’t matter. The only thing that matters is what you’re trying to do with those words. If an ounce of behaviour is worth a pound of words, then let’s get rid of the words.

Through the repetition, you are reduced in your language and forced to make demands through your behaviour. You will be required to have an opinion about the circumstances you are in and the people you are responding to.

Acting is living truthfully under imaginary circumstances. It is about responding to your environment and letting it affect you in a way that is truthful to you. There are no tactics, no character, no “in your head”. It’s just you, living truthfully, moment to moment.

When you book the 6 week Intensive you will only see one date on the calendar, August 8th. Please book in for this date and your place will be secured for the entire 6 weeks.

I took the Screen Acting with Meisner – 2 Week Intensive, and I can’t recommend it enough! These two weeks completely changed the way I approach acting. I learned to listen, stay present, trust the moment, and stop trying to control every performance.

A special thanks to Craig, who was an exceptional coach. He is an outstanding teacher with incredibly insightful feedback, and also one of the kindest people you’ll meet.
